About Veronica
Veronica is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the states of Maryland and Virginia. She’s also a Veteran officer (Captain) of the United States Air Force. Veronica has a strong interest in helping individuals and communities to recover from trauma and traumatic experiences.
Veronica completed both her undergraduate studies and Master of Social Work at the University of Michigan’s Ann Arbor campus. She majored in Psychology and Community Organization. Upon completing her master’s degree, Veronica worked as the Executive Director of the Samaritan Community Development Center (SCDC), a faith-based nonprofit organization located in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This experience solidified her commitment to empowering faith-based groups and local community organizations to better meet the emotional and mental health needs of those in their congregations and in the surrounding communities.
Most recently, Veronica was a full-time Grant Program Specialist in the Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) in Washington, D.C. As a Grant Program Specialist, she managed grants and cooperative agreements for the Transitional Housing Program (THP) and the Culturally Specific Services Program (CSSP). Prior to joining OVW, Veronica served as an active-duty clinical social worker with the U.S. Air Force and then as a clinical social worker with the Veteran’s Health Administration.
Veronica has also served her local church as a licensed and ordained Minister of the Gospel and as Connections Pastor. She has a strong belief in demonstrating God’s love both in word and deed. As the Executive Director/Program Manager for the Samaritan Community Development Corporation (SCDC), Veronica co-labored with staff and board members to extend God’s grace beyond the church building and into the local Ann Arbor, Michigan community.
